Hot Cocoa Kava - Soy Kava Drink
Here is a favorite wintertime (or anytime we suppose) Kava recipe from a customer. It's simple to prepare and what is most critical in making this recipe a success is the temperature. Since 140 degrees or hotter destroys Kavalactones, it's important to make this drink hot, but not TOO hot!
Ingredients:
- 5-6 tbs of Powdered Kava Root
- 3 cups of water
- 1 one ounce package of hot cocoa mix
1. Mix 2 1/2 cups of the water with the Kava, then strain, soak, massage and squeeze to get the most kavalactones out possible.
2. Heat the remaining 1/2 cup of water just enough to dissolve the cocoa mix, which is about 1 minute in a standard microwave.
3. Blend well with the hot cocoa mix.
4. Pour the kava and hot cocoa together.
NOTES: The hot cocoa also has sugars and powered milk in it and it will not be hot enough to hurt any of the kavlactones when the two are mixed together...Martin.
